Hope and healing for chronic conditions

Even if physical therapy hasn’t helped before.
Relieve your pain

I trust your body to tell me where and what to treat, so we’re not just chasing symptoms.

Move with confidence

Know what you can and cannot safely do, and how to take care of your symptoms (if any remain) yourself.

Reach your potential

Feel hopeful, self-sufficient, and able to live the life you want despite your condition.

Every one of us is different, and each body is unique

Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and understood.

Today's medical system fails people with chronic conditions. Doctors often don't take time to read your chart, don't listen to you, and don't do the work to try and figure out how to help. They offer pills or surgery. Everything you've tried hasn't worked, or worked well.

Maybe you've tried physical therapy before but the therapist didn't listen when you said something was painful, counterproductive, or caused flare-ups.

But you can live a fulfilling life. There is hope. Healing does not mean the damage no longer exists, it means it no longer rules our lives.

You're not crazy. Your symptoms are not all in your head. You need someone who will listen, believe, and validate your experience, and know what to do about it.

I help people with chronic conditions to live more fulfilling lives

But don't just take my word for it. Listen to my clients.
This is my neck after our first session.

I can now turn my head almost completely to the right without much pain or resistance. That was not possible before today - it's been like that for about 6+ years.

Other doctors just blew me off.

I was concerned about working with Ann because she doesn’t bill insurance herself and only takes self-pay. But I wish I had not worried so much. I can submit her bills to my insurance.

Because of Ann, I discovered that my body was way more messed up than I thought which explained why I would hurt all the time.

Other doctors just blew me off, but Ann explained how my body was designed to work and what could be getting in the way of healthy movement.

I enjoyed how thoroughly Ann explained how my body is supposed to work, and different problems that could be getting in my way, and that she offered a wide range of exercise types (thoughts, standing, sitting, etc) so that I could find what worked best for me.

My hips feel much better! I learned self-relaxation and treatment exercises.

And, I made a friend. I would recommend Ann because she is very knowledgeable about so many different techniques.

Create the plan

I listen to you, and to your body and its wisdom to determine how to treat you. Your plan includes education, advocacy, self care and treatments.

Execute the plan together

I'll be right by your side. You'll receive validation and understanding, compassion and acceptance as well as physical relief.

You need a whole body and mind approach

My techniques really are different.

I understand that you are looking for hope and healing. You want relief from your chronic pain, less anxiety about your future, and to know what you can and cannot safely do. But the medical system only really helps with acute pain, which makes you feel unheard and frustrated.

Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, understood, appreciated, believed and loved. I trust your body to tell me where and what to treat, so we’re not just chasing symptoms. That’s the beauty of visceral manipulation.

My techniques from the The Barral Institute really are different. Visceral, vascular, and neural manipulation treat the sources of your pain, instead of treating you like just one body part. The body remembers traumas, and makes adjustments. Eventually, we run out of room. These techniques make space, and help your body heal itself.

I trust your body to tell me where and what to treat
Hi, I'm Ann Alton.

I know what it's like to plan your week around going to the grocery store. I also know there is light on the other side.

I am a physical therapist that specializes in chronic conditions, pelvic floor dysfunctions, chronic pain and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. So let's talk.

  • I believe you and I'm on your side.
  • There's no obligation and no strings attached.
  • This call is 100% free of charge.
  • You have nothing to lose.

Who I serve

I do a lot of hands-on work, and my patients tend to be people who have “failed” traditional physical therapy, and who have seen multiple doctors and other professionals for their complaints, often with little to no relief. I can treat many different chronic conditions.
