Here's how I've helped some of my patients

A 50-year-old man had a double lung transplant over ten years ago, followed by a recent single lung transplant. Despite taking medication, he suffered from dangerously high ammonia levels for over a year. He made the decision to try stopping his medication, which resulted in some setbacks for us. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 a month later, but his ammonia levels were stable and well within a healthy range after 11 visits.

After being injured while pushing a heavy item, a 53-year-old man complained of pelvic and pelvic floor pain. He also had urinary incontinence and needed to get up three times during the night to urinate. He achieved his goals of little to no pain (0-1/10 pain) and no hesitancy after 13 sessions. And he was back to his old routine of getting up once a night to use the restroom.

A 17-year-old female with hypermobility underwent surgery to correct a ligament that was pulling on her diaphragm. Even after the surgery, she suffered a lot of pain. Eating and running aggravated the pain. She had a scholarship to a college that was jeopardized because she couldn’t run at the same level she could before her pain began.

She was able to eat small to medium meals without pain after 12 sessions. She ran her personal best at two consecutive high-level meets at the end of the year, securing her scholarship. She continued treatment because of some residual symptoms, but her goals were met overall.

A 43-year-old woman presented to the clinic with complaints of chronic low back and coccyx pain, stress incontinence, fecal incontinence, and other digestive system symptoms. Her improvements after 12 visits include a reduction in depressive symptoms, the absence of stress incontinence, the absence of tailbone pain, the ability to manage her neck and low back pain and range of motion at home, and the confidence to resume her own exercise regimen.

A 36-year-old female presented with a long history of back and body pain, allergies, fatigue, frequent joint pain due to hypertension, and asthma. She also recently discovered that she was on the hypermobility spectrum and may have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Her goal was to become pregnant while also learning how to manage her pain and other symptoms.

After 12 visits, the patient became pregnant and felt more confident in her ability to manage her symptoms and flare-ups, as well as prevent the majority of her flare-ups caused by joint instability. She carried the baby to full term.
